Do Beeswax Candles Really Clean The Air When Burned ?
It has been said that beeswax candles clean the air when burned .
The convection current created by combustion naturally draws air into
the flame and any pollutants in that air would be drawn into the flame
no matter what substance the candle is made of. Fortunately , when beeswax
burns it does not emit toxic fumes as do other candle waxes. All substances
give off by-products when burned . Beeswax is basically a carbohydrate
so when it burns the by-products are carbon dioxide , water vapour and
ozone. All very harmless materials in small quantities.
